Dr. Nicole Hanley-Williams is a gastroenterologist at the Lahey Clinic in Massachusetts, and a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at Tufts University School of Medicine. She went to medical school at Boston University, did her residency at Yale Medical Center, and her fellowship at Lahey Hospital. She has a specific interest in functional disorders and dysmotility. She works closely with the colorectal team at Lahey and we are excited to hear her talk on constipation.
Eric J. Dozois, MD is a professor of surgery and current Chair of the Division of Colon and Rectal Surgery, Department of Surgery, at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. He joined the staff of Mayo Clinic in 2001. Dr. Dozois earned his B.A. in biology while attending the University of California, Santa Cruz, and his M.D. at the University of Minnesota Medical School. He completed his general surgery residency, serving as chief resident, and his colon and rectal surgery fellowship at Mayo Clinic.
Dr. Dozois specializes in minimally invasive surgery, surgical management of inflammatory bowel disease, colorectal cancer, hereditary syndromes, and complex pelvic tumors. His research interests include complex pelvic tumors, young onset colorectal cancer, recurrent rectal cancer, stem cell therapy for fistulizing perianal disease, and surgical education.
Dr. Dozois is passionate about education. He served at a national level on the Residency Review Committee for Colon and Rectal Surgery and as a member of the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery, where he served as chair of the Oral Examination Committee. At Mayo Clinic he is the past program director for the Colon and Rectal Surgery Fellowship Program and past associate program director for the General Surgery Residency Program.
