Dr. Amy Thorsen on Why Endorectal Ultrasound and Anorectal Physiology Testing are Relevant in 2023

Originally from Boston, Dr. Thorsen completed her general surgery residency at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.  She attended the University of Minnesota for her colorectal surgery fellowship training and has been part of the teaching faculty there since 2002.  Dr. Thorsen was the director of the Pelvic Floor Center in Minneapolis between 2013-2020 and she continues to see and evaluate patients with anorectal physiology testing and cine defecography there. Dr. Thorsen is an expert in endoanal and endorectal ultrasound and has lead national courses on the technique. Her practice focuses on the multidisciplinary approach to rectal prolapse and other pelvic floor disorders.
