Beth-Ann Shanker grew up in Philadelphia. She graduated cum laude from Barnard College, Columbia University . She attended the University of Rochester earning both an MD and master’s in science in the field of HPV. She completed her general surgery residency at Rutgers University with AOA honors in 2013. After graduation she moved to Orlando for an Advanced Colorectal Surgery Fellowship (Fellowship Council) followed by Colorectal Residency (ACGME). She is ecstatic to be part of the Trinity Health Ann Arbor family and serves as the Associate Program Director for their Colorectal Residency. Her clinical interests are robotic surgery, complex anorectal surgery and pelvic floor pathology. Her education interests are in the future of surgical training. She developed the “curated” fellowship program (now in year 2) at Trinity Health which is molded to each trainees’ professional goals, wellness, and provides professional coaching.
