Dr. Jennifer Davids is currently an Associate Professor of Surgery at University of Massachusetts, where she completed her fellowship training in 2013. Prior to fellowship, she completed her general surgery residency at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. Dr. Davids’ clinical practice is focused entirely on colorectal surgery, and runs the full gamut of benign and malignant diseases, with a focus on minimally invasive techniques including laparoscopy, robotic surgery, endoscopy, and transanal approaches. She served as the Associate Program Director of the UMASS General Surgery residency for 5 years, and now is the colorectal fellowship program director. Dr. Davids’ major longitudinal research focus is on the experience of female physicians, particularly surgeons, and is committed to breaking barriers to equity and career advancement at every stage. Her work ranges from evaluating the impact of pregnancy, maternity, and lactation on early- career physicians, to identifying and addressing implicit bias in professional settings. She is on the Editorial Board for Clinics in Colon and Rectal Surgery, and Techniques in Coloproctology, and is an Associate Examiner for the ABCRS and ASCRS Executive Council Member. A Massachusetts native, Dr. Davids is married to an academic oncologist and has two children, aged 8 and 13. In March, Dr. Davids will head to Boston Medical Center to become Chief of Colorectal Surgery.
Dr. Alessandra C. Gasior, DO, FACS is a board-certified colon and rectal surgeon in Columbus, OH. She earned her medical degree at KCUMB in Kansas City, Missouri followed by Residency training at Kansas University Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas. She subsequently completed a Surgical Scholar fellowship and Pediatric Trauma/Critical Care fellowship at Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, Pediatric Minimally Invasive Surgery fellowship and Pediatric Colorectal Fellowship at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. Dr. Gasior completed an Adult Colorectal Surgery Fellowship at The Ohio State University. Dr. Gasior is board certified in general surgery, critical care surgery and colorectal surgery. She practices pediatric and adult colorectal surgery at OSU and NCH. Career interests are congenital colorectal transitional programs for pediatric and adult patients particularly in anorectal malformations, Hirschsprung disease and inflammatory bowel disease.
Dr. Walker is a dual board certified General and Colorectal Surgeon. He has a wide range of experience in robotic, laparoscopic, endoscopic, and open procedures related to the multiple diseases of the colon, rectum and anus. Dr. Walker completed his general surgery residency was at Madigan Army Medical with the US Army and fellowship at The Ochsner Clinic in New Orleans. He spent 5 years at William Beaumont Army Medical Center after fellowship serving as the General Surgery Assistant Program Director for 4 of those years. During his time at William Beaumont, he established multiple civilian partnerships with the local hospitals in El Paso to provide specialized colorectal care to the significantly underserved area of El Paso. He also deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan under wartime circumstances as well as multiple humanitarian missions during his time in the Army. He recently separated from the Army in July and stayed in El Paso currently practicing in a very busy community based pure colon and rectal surgery practice.
