9/25: From ERAS to Same day (<24hr) Colectomy: Dr. Rahila Essani

Dr. Rahila Essani is a board certified colon and rectal as well as a general surgeon. She completed her general surgery residency at University of Rochester, NY. After spending a year in colorectal simulation research, she underwent Advanced Rectal Cancer management/Minimally invasive colorectal training with Dr. John Marks in Philadelphia. Dr. Essani then completed the ACGME accredited colorectal fellowship in Columbus Ohio in 2011. She also did research in colorectal surgery with Dr. Robert Beart at University of Southern California for a couple of years during her general surgery residency. She is currently practicing in at Baylor Scott and White health care in Temple Texas for last 10 years. Her main interest is Minimally invasive rectal cancer surgery and robotic colon and rectal surgery.

September 18: Constipation with Dr. Hanley-Williams

Dr. Nicole Hanley-Williams is a gastroenterologist at the Lahey Clinic in Massachusetts, and a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at Tufts University School of Medicine. She went to medical school at Boston University, did her residency at Yale Medical Center, and her fellowship at Lahey Hospital. She has a specific interest in functional disorders and dysmotility. She works closely with the colorectal team at Lahey and we are excited to hear her talk on constipation.
