Endometriosis for the Colorectal Surgeon with Dr. Kelly Wright 9/10/23

Dr. Wright is a Harvard AAGL-fellowship trained minimally invasive gynecologic surgeon promoting innovative, safe, and cost-effective treatment options for women. She has worked as a physician champion on hospital committees regarding enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS), patient safety, and cost-optimization and has extensive teaching and mentoring experience of other colleagues, fellows, residents, and medical students. She currently serves as the Director of the Division of Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery (MIGS) at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, leading a busy and productive team of world-renowned surgeons.

In addition to her clinical and leadership roles, Dr. Wright enjoys using her background in biomedical engineering as an industry-leading consultant for medical device companies. Specifically she has served in product development, pre-market testing, regulatory review, market guidance, and education. Her work as an innovator has led to winning awards at national meetings for demonstrating new techniques.

Her research includes OR cost-effectiveness and minimization, enhanced recovery after surgery, the role of the MIGS in increasing minimally invasive options for women, credentialing in laparoscopy training and education, and disparities in access to minimally invasive surgery. She aims to promote gender equity for women surgeons and further women’s involvement in the male-dominated medical device industry.
